Internship Description
Ronald McDonald House Houston offers a home away from home providing care, compassion, and hope to families with seriously ill children being treated in the Texas Medical Center.
Degree-seeking, undergraduate student will engage in a firsthand, practical learning experience supervised by the Special Events Coordinator in the Department of Advancement at Ronald McDonald House Houston (RMH Houston). Intern will have the opportunity complete a variety of special events related tasks, as well as participate in meetings, site visits, and other Advancement Department appointments.

Qualifications:
- Degree-seeking college student with interest in non-profit development, fundraising, and/or special event planning
- Ability to interact comfortably with patients who may be very ill
- Ability to interact gracefully with families whose children may be critically ill
- Ability to comply with Ronald McDonald House Houston policies
- Someone with a pleasant personality and an empathetic and caring nature who is genuinely interested in furthering RMH Houston’s mission
- Someone who is outgoing, a good communicator, listener, and detail-oriented. The position requires a volunteer who demonstrates good judgment, flexibility and dependability
- Ability to work independently or with a small group
- Ability to maintain professional behavior when representing RMH Houston to partnering companies, donors, affinity group members, and board members.
